This education module was developed as part of the Enhancing Access to Services for Your Health – the “EASY Health” initiative. The lessons aim to give you the knowledge and understanding to improve the way healthcare services are delivered to people with intellectual disability.
This e-learning module was funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services. The content was co-designed with people with intellectual disability, people on the autism spectrum and health professionals. We would also like to acknowledge the valuable expertise and contribution of Indelibility Arts, Mater Research and Mater Education.
We acknowledge the individual and collective expertise of people with intellectual disability. We recognise their vital contribution at all levels and value the courage of those who shared their unique perspective for the purpose of learning and growing together to achieve better outcomes for all. We acknowledge those with intellectual disability who have suffered premature and preventable deaths.
We acknowledge the people and the Elders of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nations who are the Traditional Owners of the land and seas of Australia.
